Mary, mother of Jesus
Humble servant of the LordA young Jewish woman chosen by grace to bear the Son of God. Mary received a costly calling, treasured God’s works, followed Jesus, and remained near Him at the cross.
Anna
Watchful, prayerful, and full of hopeAn elderly prophet who spent decades worshiping, fasting, and praying at the temple. When she saw the infant Jesus, she thanked God and spoke about Him to those awaiting redemption.
The Samaritan woman
Known completely and sent as a witnessA Samaritan woman who met Jesus at Jacob’s well. He crossed social boundaries, exposed her story without contempt, revealed Himself as Messiah, and used her testimony to draw a town toward Him.
Mary Magdalene
Delivered disciple and resurrection witnessA disciple from whom Jesus cast out seven demons. Mary supported His ministry, remained near the cross, came early to the tomb, and became the first recorded witness sent to announce His resurrection.
Martha of Bethany
Loved, honest, and learning the better portionA hospitable friend of Jesus who sometimes became anxious in service. In grief over Lazarus, Martha spoke honestly and made one of the Gospels’ clearest confessions of Jesus’ identity.

Attentive disciple and extravagant worshiperMartha and Lazarus’s sister, remembered sitting at Jesus’ feet as a disciple, grieving honestly before Him, and anointing Him with costly perfume before His death.
The woman healed after twelve years
A daughter restored in body and communityAn unnamed woman exhausted by twelve years of bleeding and unsuccessful treatment. She reached for Jesus in faith; He stopped, called her daughter, affirmed her faith, and restored her publicly.
The Syrophoenician woman
Bold, humble, and persistent for her daughterA Gentile mother who pleaded with Jesus to deliver her daughter. She answered His testing words with humble, tenacious faith, and Jesus praised her great faith.
The widow with two coins
Seen by Jesus in quiet generosityAn unnamed poor widow whose tiny offering was noticed by Jesus. In context, her story also stands beside His warning about leaders who exploit widows.

Openhearted entrepreneur and church hostA seller of purple cloth and worshiper of God in Philippi. The Lord opened Lydia’s heart to Paul’s message, she was baptized with her household, and her home became a base for the new church.
Priscilla
Theologically grounded teacher and ministry partnerA tentmaker who served alongside her husband Aquila and Paul. Priscilla helped explain the way of God more accurately to Apollos and hosted churches in her home.
Phoebe
