DAY 18 · 6 MINUTE DEVOTIONAL

Truth for the anxious heart

Prayer is not denial of anxiety; it is the practice of bringing specific fear under God’s guarding presence.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Present your requests to God. And the peace of God will guard your hearts.
Philippians 4:6–7

SIT WITH THE WORD

Paul joins prayer with thanksgiving and honest request. We do not pretend the threat is unreal. We remember God’s past faithfulness while naming what we need now.

Spiritual practice can accompany professional care. Counseling, medical support, medication, sleep, and safe relationships may be gifts of common grace rather than failures of faith.

REFLECT WITH JESUS

Can you turn a vague fear into a specific request?

1What support could God be providing through another person?

2What is one thing I can do today?

ONE FAITHFUL STEP

Carry it into today

Write one fear, one request, and one remembered evidence of God’s faithfulness.

PRAY

God of peace, here is what I fear. Guard my mind in Christ, guide me toward wise care, and help me receive today’s grace. Amen.

CONTINUE TOMORROW
