DAY 19 · 6 MINUTE DEVOTIONAL

Forgiving with wisdom

Forgiveness releases vengeance to God; it does not require pretending harm was harmless or restoring unsafe access.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Colossians 3:13

SIT WITH THE WORD

Christian forgiveness flows from received mercy. It refuses to nurture personal vengeance and asks God to judge justly. Yet reconciliation involves more: truth, repentance, safety, and rebuilt trust.

You can forgive while maintaining a boundary. In situations of abuse or danger, seek qualified help. Quick access is not proof of a forgiving heart.

REFLECT WITH JESUS

Are you being pressured to confuse forgiveness with immediate trust?

1What boundary protects truth and safety?

2What vengeance do I need to entrust to God?

ONE FAITHFUL STEP

Carry it into today

Write what forgiveness releases and what wisdom still requires.

PRAY

Just and merciful God, free me from vengeance while keeping me rooted in truth. Give me wise boundaries and safe support. Amen.

CONTINUE TOMORROW
