Motherhood can awaken fierce love and fierce inadequacy. God does not ask a mother to be omnipresent, all-knowing, or endlessly patient. Those qualities belong to Him.
Faithful motherhood includes teaching, nurturing, correcting, apologizing, resting, and asking for help. Children do not need a mother who replaces Jesus; they need one who returns to Him.
REFLECT WITH JESUS
Which impossible expectation are you carrying?
1What burden belongs to God rather than me?
2Where could grace replace perfectionism?

Offer one sincere apology or ask for one practical form of help.
PRAY
Gentle Shepherd, lead me as I nurture others. Give me wisdom, patience, humility to repair, and permission to rest in Your care. Amen.
