DAY 16 · 6 MINUTE DEVOTIONAL

Rest is not laziness

Jesus did not treat human limits as moral failure. He invited tired disciples away to rest.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.
Mark 6:31

SIT WITH THE WORD

Rest can feel threatening when worth is attached to productivity. Yet sleep and Sabbath confess that God sustains the world without your constant motion.

Rest is not neglecting real responsibility. It is receiving creaturely limits, planning sustainable rhythms, and refusing to make exhaustion a badge of righteousness.

REFLECT WITH JESUS

What fear surfaces when you stop producing?

1What am I trying to prove through exhaustion?

2What kind of rest actually restores me?

ONE FAITHFUL STEP

Carry it into today

Protect one small period of restorative rest on your calendar.

PRAY

Jesus, Lord of rest, help me honor the limits You designed. Teach me to work faithfully and stop without guilt. Amen.

CONTINUE TOMORROW
